Oily and Acne Skin occurs at all ages
and is basically just good skin that is out of balance. The sebaceous
oil glands become overactive from Internal Factors such as: The
hormonal surge commonly signaling PMS, Stress, and Diet, or External
Factors such as: Pollution and Sun Exposure. When this happens,
the sebaceous glands pump too much oil which creates shine, attracts dirt,
and provides an ideal environment for bacteria to thrive. This results
in sudden breakouts, bumps under the skin, and enlarged pores. |

The Good News: While
the predisposition to acne is inevitable, the good news is that acne is
very treatable. Under treatment, however, compliance is absolutely essential
to insure good results and long term maintenance. Picking or touching
acne-damaged skin will only cause further scaring which cannot be cured
at this time. |
